Tessa Wolfe Murray lives a few minutes from the sea, creating her pieces from her studio in Hove. Her slab-built and slipcast ceramic vases are inspired by changing moods of the sea and surrounding shorelines. Her latest series are inspired by the colours and textures of the coast, capturing the glassy-grey hue of the sea after a storm in her 'Stormcalm' range. Smokefiring  creates the impression of swirling waters in ‘Deep Sea’ and ‘Shallows’, while  subtle dark shades of blues and greens envelop the 'Stormshore' vessels.

Having finished her studies in London, Tessa left for Yorkshire, where she set up a studio. Since then, her ceramics have been shown in galleries across the United Kingdom and Europe, and international projects such as a commission for an Ikebana exhibition in Kyoto, Japan, have provided fruitful collaborative inspiration. Her work is held in public and private collections both in the United Kingdom and abroad.
