London Design Festival celebrates and promotes London as the design capital of the world. The Festival returns to venues and institutions across the city from 15-23 September 2018. #LDF18

13 September – 6 October
Part of London Design Festival 2018

Running parallel to Windows onto Making , there will be a spotlight display by textile artist Emily Jo Gibbs who is launching a book to accompany her most recent body of work.

The Value of Making depicts various making disciplines through to-scale representations of tools; hand-stitched exquisite still life portraits in a collage of silk organza. Gibbs made these portraits to reflect how proud she is to be a member of this creative community and to celebrate the skill, dexterity and the creative problem solving of people who make things. Alongside Gibbs’ work will be the work of the seven makers in the book, among them CAA maker members Helen Beard, Ane Christensen and Michael Ruh.
