Fri 6 May 10.00am – 6.00pm

Throughout the day porcelain artist and CAA maker member Sue Paraskeva throws fine porcelain vessels in preparation for her Smashing performance on Saturday.

Sat 7 May 11.30am – 12.15pm

A conversation between Helen Carnac and Tracey Rowledge. In this informal discussion CAA maker members Helen Carnac, enamel artist, and Tracey Rowledge, fine bookbinder, talk about ways in which they manage, harness and embody mistakes in their work - especially through mark making. Both artists aim to be open minded in their approaches to developing and making work, which sometimes leads to unexpected results - something they both seek out and explore.

Sat 7 May 2.00pm - 3.00pm

Sue Paraskeva performs Smashing. Freshly turned porcelain vessels are altered dramatically by smashing the originals, creating a new exciting piece. Creating installations and altering vessels, the porcelain is a pure white base to add dramatic black clays and strong copper slips. The performance lasts about 20 minutes, accompanied by a minimalist musical composition.

Sat 7 May 3.00pm – 5.00pm

The Alice Chair and other furniture stories. A chance to meet furniture maker and CAA maker member Christian O’Reilly, who has a focus exhibition at the gallery during London Craft Week.
