Louise Renae Anderson

Louise Renae Anderson’s designs are hand crafted one of a kind professional textile pieces. Working predominantly within her woven textile specialism, she constructs works of natural materials using techniques involving traditional methods of dyeing and weaving with a contemporary approach to design. Her subtle aesthetic is explored through material manipulation, the creation of refined tactile surface, and the beauty of imperfection. The works vary from calm, contemplative works of art, to functional beautifully tactile fashion pieces.

Louise’s passion for Textiles developed from her study of fashion design: learning to manipulate cloth to envelop the human form, through acquiring knowledge to cut, drape and sew cloth with skill. It was this love of material and technical construction that led her to study hand-woven textiles and continue this passion of creative experimentation and development of Constructed Textiles.
