Helen Slater

Each one-off piece of glass by Helen Slater is hand cast and polished. They have a precious, quiet elegance, suggesting the feelings and atmosphere of a particular place or setting, captured within the glass, an ethereal quality of memories past. Slater’s work looks at how we perceive and remember places in our lives. Her glass pieces address our associations with the environment, the home, and the places we visit which retain a resonance throughout our lives. They reference a narrative that can be read as personal or generic, to which the viewer can bring their own associations.
