“Some people collect and squirrel away everything from a long life, while others carefully select individual objects which are charged with special meaning, and then some people pick up what others throw away. Our lives are narrated through the objects we collect.” With these themes in mind Lindsey Mann creates collections of playful kinetic jewellery and objects which take a light-hearted look at her childhood memories. Many of her pieces have both familiar and yet foreign associations, perhaps triggering a vague memory for the viewer, too, and hopefully making them smile.
She makes line drawings, collages and takes photographs to develop her work; the silver components are all handmade. She enjoys the challenges that working with mixed media presents and takes pleasure in finding alternative ways of connecting and assembling her work.
