Janet Hinchliffe McCutcheon
Janet Hinchliffe McCutcheon is interested in brining different materials together in a piece of jewellery to create a harmonious composition. Working with silver, wood, textile, glass, leather and paper, she combines contrasting materials to challenge herself visually and technically, and to create tactile experiences for the wearer. The jewellery forms are influenced by her interest in simple linear visual statements and her desire to produce natural compositions. Ideas are resolved through a continual process of making and reflecting upon actions. With time the process becomes intuitive. The pieces are objects and wearable jewellery.
