Jeanette Appleton

Jeannette Appleton specialises in the felting technique and transformation of materials by hand or industrial processes. Producing one off wall hangings and framed works, for retail and commissions, she explores mark making and colour fusion within the making process, adding cut surfaces and stitch to the mixed colour layers of fibre and printed fabric.

Appleton researches historical and contemporary issues of the nomad and land. Considering how landscape becomes a commodity, through the tourist view or souvenir and used as a collected memory of place or nostalgia. She participates in international exchanges to explore cultural differences through the creative process and produces installations for specific sites.
