Daphne Carnegy

An apprenticeship in France and several visits to Italy introduced Daphne Carnegy to the delights of tin-glazed earthenware, with its rich traditions of maiolica, faience and delftware. Additional training at Harrow School of Art refined and developed her skills and confirmed a commitment to this medium. Working in a limited colour palette, often just blue or black, Daphne makes a range of thrown hand-painted maiolica which combines an awareness of historical precedents with a passion for plants and nature.
