Michael Ruh
I try to make the most complete aesthetic statement possible by the simplest means I can think of. I strive to create pieces of the utmost of aesthetic complexity and flexibility while utilising a minimum of colour and decoration.
My physical surroundings often provide the inspiration for my work. My String and Cocoon vessels have evolved from the delicate patterns on sandbars caused by receded water, or lines drawn into fresh snow by leafless windblown shrubs.
