Kuldeep Malhi
My work draws from my mix of cultural experiences, east-meeting west.
I want to imbue eastern eroticism and sensuality within my iconography; it is my intention to introduce these cross-cultural references and apparent paradoxes into private and public spaces. Currently my work responds to the vertical planes within architectural spaces. My work is also about tactility and touch, visually and compositionally it can be considered as an image or composition like a three-dimensional painting.
The glazes I have developed for both have a subtle range of hue that graduates in colour to emphasise the nature, mood and character of the work. The potential scale of my work lends itself to commissions as well as exhibition pieces
