Intricate handling and combination of paper and precious materials
In Japan, washi (Japanese paper) is used in the crafting of many different objects, including furniture, toys and ornaments. It feels natural to work and play with paper, and it possible to take an almost child-like joy in doing so.
Silver is cut, rolled, soldered and sometimes oxidized. Paper can be cut, twisted, dyed, folded, painted in layers of ink, glued, sewn with thread and set in a silver frame.
