Events

From time to time CAA host special events in the gallery or at other venues. These events fall outside our normal exhibition activiites and feature artistic collaborations, performances and other stagings and environments for the display and appreciation of CAA artists' work.

 

Meet the Maker

Susie Thompson will be making pieces in the gallery Thursday 19 and Friday 20 April, and Thursday 26 and Friday 27 April, 10:30am-1:30pm, 2:30-5:30pm, free admission.  

 

Lecture

Wednesday 23 May 2007
‘A continuing line’ by Dail Behennah
1:30-2:30pm and 6-7pm, free admission (booking required as space limited).

Short video presentation will run throughout the exhibition featuring makers Caroline Sharp and Sarah Pank.

A number of our distinguished Makers will be available to discuss their work.

Emmanuel Cooper/David Stoll – an evening of talks and music

Contemporary Applied Arts were delighted to host an evening of talks and music. This special event was a collaboration between the distinguished ceramicist Emmanuel Cooper and the acclaimed composer David Stoll. Both composer and maker talked about the way they approach their work and the ideas that inform its creation.

The talks were followed by a performance of SPACES IN A SPACE, David Stoll’s fourth String Quartet, by the internationally famous Bingham String Quartet.

Viewing and refreshments from 6pm, talks and music 6.30-8pm
