For such a pure, proper and valuable material as silver influences come from my journey to and from the workshop, my observations; the things I capture in a blink of a second influences come from the street; filth and oddities are what I collect within the hectic urban environment of London. My brain captures information quicker than my hands can produce.
The conservativeness of the discipline really pushes me to become more creative, challenging and playful. It is essential to keep this discipline alive and forward thinking. Combining other materials such as salt and lead has been important to really attack the silver physically.
Likewise to adapt unwanted, unvalued objects and give them a new life and opportunity is to make them relevant once again. It is essential to push the boundaries and the potential for the discipline and raise questions and innovate through making.
