Detta Fane

Detta Fane is interested in the metamorphic qualities of the materials she uses as they rust and crystallise into a hardened surface of skin, which holds the forms together. This is her signature alchemy. She uses different materials: steel mesh, steel wool and liquid clay to create these architectural sculptures. Developing the work has led to lengthening the structures by stretching their skeletal frames and extending their translucent surface. The architectural presence becomes their purpose.
