Peter Sutton
For me it is more about the effect than the material. Glass is the catalyst to make things happen. I like to work with the essential qualities of reflection, transmission and or refraction to create compositions.
In line with the nature of the medium, I create pieces that change – both depending on the light source and its direction, and the angle or distance from which the work is viewed.
In some attempt to aspire to a beauty and purity, I skirmish with geometric form. The cutting up of such a form and putting it back in a 3dimensional light conductor setting is a less pure transmission, although tantalising for the effect. I wish my pieces to move the viewer physically around while seeing.
