Andrew Wicks
The surface patterns on Andrew Wicks's hand thrown porcelain vessels are inspired by patterns within the natural world, from micro organisms and corals to massive land formations. Glazes appear liquid and lucid and emphasise the textures and form.
Each vessel is treated with a water-etching process that Andrew has developed and refined over many years. The tactile surface patterns created by this technique emphasise the refined nature of the porcelain clay and make each piece very satisfying to touch.
