Helen Carnac
Cluster 4: 40 pieces, 40 hours.
This large wall piece is made up of 40 smaller pieces. Some are wearable and others may or may not be. Each is a fleeting visit to Carnac’s workshop and to the time at which they were composed, over a period of 40 hours. Each has been made quickly in response to the material, many materials having been found and recycled from other projects in and around Carnac’s studio. Some of the pieces are marked and drawn on, and within the work, the viewer and wearer will also find left over marks, new marks and the continuation of old marks.
