Holly Belsher

When I started making jewellery 26 years ago, I was inspired by ancient artefacts. But now I am becoming fascinated by my own heritage. The beauty of the British countryside. Textures and colours of the landscape, the flora and fauna. Pebbles from a beach. The patterns of bare twigs in winter.
I also love playing with metal. Heating it till it melts, teasing it I love the softer more organic look that this gives, so all my work has this surface texture. I also like to use the colours of semi-precious stone beads, and pearls in my work to bring colour and warmth to the wearer. I have a range of cast jewellery, brooches, earrings and cufflinks for men. But in the necklaces I make, each bead has to be individually made. Thus each necklace is a unique compliment to its wearer.
