David Sellars

Davidís approach to the medium has always been a response to a reading of the text, sometimes followed by a further study of the author and subject, occasionally traveling to where a text is set. The physical nature of the medium he has always viewed as a mix of sculpture, architecture and engineering. His first hero was Edgar Mansfield whose expressive use of leather made him feel that is the natural material of choice. However he has ventured away occasionally, when the leather would not do what he wanted to achieve.
