Stewart Hearn is a highly respected London based glassmaker and designer. He has established a professional practice of over twenty years, developed during his experience of working with some of Britain’s best master glassmakers.
His practice has always been defined by skill, the understanding of a challenging material, the domination and control of its fluid language into strong shapes and largely symmetrical forms. Recently however he has experimented with the thickness and weight of glass. His latest commission, for the Edinburgh International Film Festival involved blown elements but the piece was in fact solid glass.
In 2002, he co-founded and is now sole owner of London Glassworks.
Using his accumulation of specialist knowledge, creative passion and his philosophy that celebrates the value of traditional glassmaking skills in quality products; the company has been successfully operating as a highly skilled glassmaking service to a variety of clients.
Alongside the exclusive personal collections of his production and unique
works, Stewart Hearn also offers individual commissioning and a bespoke
corporate gift service.
