Edward Teasdale

Furniture making allows for the creation of objects with physical presence and practical purpose in equal measure. Concentrating on the hollow box form pieces are all at the same time storage, seating, tables and plinths. This emphasis on fundamental utility is further extended, beyond function, becoming both the inspiration for and the overall characteristic of work.
 
Craft practice has evolved through many individual material interests but focusing in some way on environmental concerns has remained constant.  Material choices, working practices and design approaches, while informed by technology are more to do with what might be termed adopting a light touch. Working alone, economy of means, celebrating simplicity.
