Fluid and sumptuous handling of the clay and application of glazes

A combination of throwing and slab building makes soft flowing forms. Very wet porcelain is manipulated, as if forming with velvet, allowing it to create soft folds as various components are sewn together - feet and handles are often pulled separately and added on at leather-hard stage. 

Fluid coloured glazes are strategically brushed onto a thick transparent glaze, so that when fused in the firing they run into each other, pool in the folds of porcelain, drip off feet and edges, and accentuate the feeling of overflowing plenty.
