Sensitivity to the limitations and imperfections of the material.
The marks of production are preserved in the finish of the pieces. The materials used include sterling silver, 18ct gold, found objects and vellum. Some cast components are used, with traditional jewellery techniques used alongside laser technology. Incorporating natural materials allows nature and time to impact on the making process, with the lack of control being crucial to development as a maker.
Aesthetic inspiration develops from the unintended details found in decomposition and changing materials. Although the work is beautiful, it is a choice to ensure that the pieces include imperfections and are not symmetrical. The animal skin incorporated displays imperfections: marks and scars gained during the animalís life, possibly caused by barbed wire or through fighting.
