Elizabeth Bone & Catherine Hills

Wendy Ramshaw has chosen to exhibit with two talented and sophisticated younger jewellers who is each determinedly creating a personal and distinctive style, working from her own studio full time. Much of their work is batch produced and both are truly international in outlook, exhibiting and selling world-wide.

Elizabeth Bone and Catherine Hills reflect opposite ends of Wendys appreciation of form in their work. Elizabeth, who worked with Wendy in the late eighties, achieves the hard geometric edge with a remarkable precision. Catherine Hills makes more fluid organic forms. If I see here echoes of cloud effects and Jean Arp, that is because modern jewellery is an endless stimulation, and some of the best is now at CAA.
