Susan Cross

Susan Cross’ love of encrusted embroidery and fascination for smooth strands of hair are evident in her jewellery’s varied and intricate textural surfaces. Fringing and silk tassels have been influential on a new group of earrings and long pendants, introducing qualities of density and softness. In contrast, rigidity and semi-transparency are brought into play in a striking gold necklace of cushion-shaped beats which reveals Cross’ control of material and technique.
