Malcolm Betts

There is a warmth and tactile quality in the gently hammered surfaces of Malcolm Betts’ jewellery, inviting comparisons with the richness of ancient beaten gold. Taking the hoop as a starting-point for his series of classic bangles and rings, Betts elaborates his theme with subtle variations of colour, texture, proportion and embellishment. Rings with unexpected rotating linings or wires are rare, hand cut precious stones all serve to enhance the individuality of his work.
