Pauline Solven

There is a crisp almost weightless quality of abstraction in Pauline Solvenís art, with its luminous and freely composed translucent colour that draws on the natural and man-made landscape (the geomentry of the fields, the order or Pisan architecture) and its changing passages of light. Solven has developed complex forms that make each piece persuasive both as sculpture and painting, and because it is so sensitive to the rich tonalities of the daylight world, the work also becomes a powerful equivalent and re-invention of that world.
