Ben Dunnington

There is a baroque wit and energy in Ben Dunnington’s glass – whether we are looking as his candlesticks and dishes on their twisting stems, or his tall rather Memphistyle vases. He likes to explore the elements of clear and coloured glass combined, and some pieces, like his classically elegant tall vases and bottles, are made matt by sand blasting and polishing. There is an Italian theatricality about Dunington’s craft, but the language he has developed is modern and convincingly his own.
